Entrepreneurship Post

Hi there! My name is Maryann. My idea for the Entrepreneurship project is to create an online thrift/vintage store. A thrift store is a secondhand store that sells items at a much cheaper price than retail. Not always, but most times, quality thrifting depends on your location. For example, as a native Marylander, I can attest that there are not many thrifting options available. In order to combat this, I usually conduct my thrifting online.

Thrifting is an excellent shopping method that I think every college student should get into. The clothing from thrift stores is much cheaper and just as nice as the ones from retail. The thrift store would be online which would make the clothing available for everyone no matter where you are. As much as I love online shopping, I know it can be a hassle for those who prefer to try on clothes before they make a purchase. I would hope to provide plenty of visuals and make use of multimedia (such as mini videos describing the clothing items) in order to help consumers make a decision. In addition, I would have online stylists that can help consumers figure out sizing, looks, and other fashion-related things. I plan to update inventory on a weekly basis. After all, there is nothing more frustrating that visiting a store that rarely changes up their selection.

I am a firm believer that fashion does not have to be expensive. After all, being a college student can be rough! After paying for books, food, entertainment, etc., there is not much left to spare for the fashion-forward college students. My aim is to keep my online store budget-friendly. Because the store would be second-hand and continually stocked, I am confident that this will be possible.
